Short description of the project:
“Organic-Inorganic Functional Nanomaterials for 2D and 3D Printed Optoelectronics” (No. LIDER/009/185/L-5/13/NCBR/2014) is being carried out as part of the 5th edition of the Lider program, funded by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).
Currently, one of the main factors limiting the development of printed optoelectronics using 2D printers, and potentially 3D printers in the future, is the lack of affordable and stable printing inks available on the market. Compared to traditional technologies, such as the lithographic process, this technology requires significantly less energy and smaller infrastructure investments, making it a more cost-effective option. Given these facts, the search for inexpensive, modern materials and innovative technologies for producing optoelectronic devices is fully justified.
The presented project aims to develop innovative inks made from organic-inorganic hybrid polymer nanomaterials for printing optoelectronic devices, primarily photovoltaic cells.
Typical hybrid polymer materials consist of polymers with conductive properties and inorganic semiconductor nanoparticles. By combining these two components, new materials with excellent conductivity are created, along with unique optical, mechanical, and plastic properties. Another key advantage of these materials is their ability to form a p-n heterojunction in a single layer, which is fundamental to the construction and operation of most optoelectronic devices.
