M.Sc.Eng. Alicja Szymska-Szymanik

Alicja Szymska-Szymanik is a graduate of the Cracow University of Technology. She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology. In 2022, she defended with distinction her Master’s thesis entitled ” Synthesis and study of the cytotoxicity of InP/ZnSe/ZnS nanoparticles for their potential use in medicine” under the supervision of Prof. Katarzyna Matras-Postołek in cooperation with the Experimental Centre of the Medical University of Lublin. In the same year, she started her doctoral studies in Chemical Engineering. The subject of her doctoral thesis focuses on the investigation of modern photocatalysts based on graphitic carbon nitride. The research is carried out within the framework of the PolonezBis project entitled ” Noble metal clusters incorporated g-C3N4 based heterostructures toward solar-driven photo- and electrochemical conversion” under the co-supervision of dr Xiao Zhang (UMO contract no. 2021/43/P/ST5/01729). 

Alicja Szymska-Szymanik was an active member of the Student Chemistry Club. In September 2021 she co-founded the Nanomaterials Scientific Circle and became its vice-president. Moreover, she co-mentors FutureLab student projects and represents the Cracow University of Technology at numerous national and international conferences.
