Ph.D. Eng. Svitlana Sovinska

In 2013 Svitlana Sovinska received her master’s degree at the Chernivtsi National University, Ukraine with a specialization in organic chemistry. The topic of her master’s thesis was “Intensification of nucleophilic reactions of peroxide compounds in a super-basic environment”. In 2014 she obtained a degree with a specialization in Light Organic Technology at the Cracow University of Technology. She carried out her master’s thesis entitled “Synthesis and study of properties of ZnSe-based nanoparticles” within the project “Novel ZnS(Se) hybrid nanocomposites for optoelectronic applications” funded by the Foundation for Polish Science, within the 6th edition of the Homing Plus program. In 2014 she started her doctoral work in the frame of the LIDER project (contract number LIDER/009/185/L-5/13/NCBR/2014) funded by NCBiR. In 2018 she received the Student Inventor prize. In 2019 Svitlana Sovinska received the prize as the best international PhD student in Poland (INTERSTUDENT Competition Perspektywy) as well as a scholarship under The Iwanowska Program from NAWA Agency. In 2022 she defended her doctoral thesis titled “Preparation and characterisation of ZnSe nanomaterials for a new generation of photovoltaic” at the Chemistry Faculty of the Jagiellonian University. The thesis supervisor was Prof. Katarzyna Matras-Postołek.

Currently, she works as a specialist chemist at CANPACK Group company.
